Dubai and Hong Kong join Together to Boost Cross-Border IT growth
Dubai CommerCity, the first free zone in the MENA region dedicated to e-commerce, has announced a partnership with Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Limited (HSITPL) to support technology companies’ growth and strengthen business ties between Dubai and Hong Kong.
The partnership will enable Dubai CommerCity-based enterprises to examine the possibility of setting up operations at the Loop Hong Kong Park and to grow into Hong Kong, mainland China and other markets.
It will also help attract Hong Kong technology companies to Dubai CommerCity, where they can leverage the integrated ecosystem to develop and build their enterprises in the UAE and expand into regional markets.
The partnership was announced at the Dubai Business Forum – China, hosted by Dubai Chambers in Shenzhen and themed “Momentum at Scale: Accelerating Shared Success”, with Amna Lootah, Director General of Dubai CommerCity, and senior representatives from HSITPL and Dubai Chambers in attendance.
Lootah said the partnership will strengthen links between the two innovation ecosystems and open pathways for technology businesses to enter global markets. She said the program supported the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 by increasing the emirate’s competitiveness, attracting investment, and encouraging a knowledge- and innovation-based economy.
