Interior Ministry Announces ‘Absher Travel for Visitors’ Service at Land Border Points

RIYADH – The Ministry of Interior on Monday inaugurated the “Absher Travel for Visitors” service electronically through the Absher app for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nationals and other visitors entering through all of the Kingdom’s land border crossings.

The service was launched in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Tourism, the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST), the Insurance Authority, the General Directorate of Passports and Public Security.

Six months after the service goes live, it will become mandatory for visitors and will facilitate and automate entry procedures for travelers and vehicles. It will enable users to complete travel procedures and meet requirements digitally before arriving at the border crossing, including registering traveller and vehicle information and getting vehicle insurance.

The ministry said that the service is available to visitors via the Absher app by selecting Absher Travel for Visitors  prior to travel, selecting the nationality, mobile phone number and document type, then the border crossing and expected travel date, followed by the traveler’s information, vehicle and insurance information.

The service comes within the framework of the ministry’s endeavours to enhance the quality of electronic services provided to visitors to the Kingdom, improving their experience and facilitating their arrival through land border crossings.
