UK, Australia and Canada Unite Behind $4 Million Initiative for Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts
LONDON — Britain, Australia and Canada have launched a joint peace fund aimed at supporting grassroots efforts toward a two‑state solution to the Israeli‑Palestinian conflict. Each country is contributing £1 million ($1.34 million), bringing the total to £3 million (approximately $4 million).
The fund will focus on new and existing projects involving youth groups, civil society organizations, and women. Once operational, the initiative will seek to scale up and attract additional donors.
The announcement was made ahead of a meeting in Britain between UK Foreign Minister Yvette Cooper and her Australian and Canadian counterparts, Penny Wong and Anita Anand.
