Saudi Arabia Reacts to Latest Iranian Attacks Across the Middle East
RIYADH — Saudi Arabia on Tuesday condemned a series of attacks carried out by Iran and Tehran-backed factions targeting Kuwaiti border posts, an offshore drilling platform, the Kuwaiti consulate in Basra, and two Emirati oil tankers, while also voicing opposition to strikes on Jordan, Bahrain, and Qatar.
The United Arab Emirates’ Defense Ministry said two of its tankers were hit in the Strait of Hormuz, killing one crew member and wounding eight others. Bahrain activated its missile alert siren early Tuesday as Iran retaliated against US airstrikes, urging residents to seek shelter.
Kuwait’s armed forces reported responding to hostile aerial targets on Monday and again on Tuesday evening. The army also stated that three northern border posts sustained material damage and that a drilling platform operated by Kuwait Oil Company was struck by a hostile drone, injuring one worker.
Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministry reiterated its categorical rejection of violations of regional sovereignty and held Iran accountable for actions that destabilize security and stability. The Kingdom called for an immediate halt to such aggressions and reaffirmed full solidarity with neighboring nations in measures taken to uphold their sovereignty.
