Pilgrims Can Now Consult Scholars Online Through Grand Mosque Digital Platforms
Pilgrims visiting the Grand Mosque can now easily reach religious scholars for guidance without navigating crowded corridors or waiting in long lines, thanks to a new cloud-based communication system unveiled this week.
Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, head of the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, inaugurated the innovative system designed to streamline how visitors access religious counsel during their spiritual journeys.
How It Works
The platform automatically routes calls to available scholars’ personal phones, eliminating the need for them to remain stationed at specific locations within the mosque. When someone dials the unified hotline—8001222100—the system intelligently directs them to the nearest available scholar, drastically reducing wait times.
The system operates around the clock, meaning pilgrims can seek guidance at any hour during their visit. Calls can also be transferred to specialized offices within the Grand Mosque that handle specific types of inquiries, ensuring visitors receive accurate and relevant answers.
A Smoother Experience for Worshippers
For visitors tackling complex religious questions or seeking spiritual guidance, the previous model often meant navigating busy areas of the mosque or waiting for a scholar’s availability. The new platform changes that experience entirely.
“The system targets Umrah and Hajj pilgrims and visitors to the Grand Mosque, facilitating access to esteemed scholars and enhancing the quality of services provided,” Al-Sudais explained.
By directing calls through a digital network rather than requiring in-person interaction, the system eases physical congestion within the Grand Mosque itself, creating a more peaceful environment for those engaged in prayer and worship.
Quality Assurance Built In
The platform records calls to ensure quality control and allow for future reference, while generating detailed performance reports to continuously improve the service. This commitment to reliability complements the mosque’s traditional free telephone inquiry system, ensuring the widest possible access for pilgrims.
The initiative represents a significant step in the Two Holy Mosques’ digital transformation, reinforcing their mission to provide exceptional religious services while spreading the moderate message of Islam to visitors from around the world. Whether someone has a quick question about prayer procedures or seeks deeper spiritual counsel, the answer is now just a phone call away.
