IFFCO and EKTIFA have Formed a Strategic Alliance to Enhance R&D for food Products

Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production Establishment (EKTIFA) and IFFCO Group have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand cooperation in food research and development, sustainable food manufacture and sharing of expertise. The relationship aligns with the vision and directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah to establish a sustainable food system, promote healthy and safe food production, and secure the long-term viability of local production, supporting Sharjah’s and the UAE’s food security.

This agreement is a vital step to enhance cooperation in research and development,  said Dr. Eng. Khalifa Musabeh Al Teneiji. IFFCO’s decades of experience in food manufacturing and supply chain management provide important expertise that EKTIFA can depend on to enhance its skills and realise its aspirations.

He said: Through this partnership, we intend to tap IFFCO’s technical expertise, train our national talent in its state-of-the-art research and food manufacturing laboratories and scout for opportunities to enter new markets. This relationship is also a success story for the Emirate of Sharjah, illustrating how strategic collaboration can turn local production capabilities into higher value, innovation and sustainable development.

Dr Al Teneiji also stressed the importance of public-private collaborations to boost local food value chains and encourage creativity in the sector. He said making the food sector more sustainable would also make it better able to respond to changing market dynamics and meet evolving customer needs efficiently and sustainably.
