JEDDAH: At Al-Firdaws Camp 2 in Yemen’s Aden governorate, KSrelief provided drinking water to more than 2,000 displaced people from 300 households.

As part of an emergency effort, the water was supplied to six distribution stations at the camp in the Al-Buraiqah district, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The operation was part of Saudi Arabia’s broader humanitarian initiatives to improve Yemeni citizens’ quality of life. KSrelief has completed 58 water, sanitation, and hygiene projects nationwide, totaling more than $246 million, according to its own statistics.

Since its founding in 2015, the organization has completed over 1,200 projects totalling $4.8 billion in the nation.

In addition to addressing water emergencies, KSrelief develops longer-term infrastructure projects such as pipeline networks, pumping stations, and wells.

In the Hodeidah governorate’s Al-Khawkhah region, the organization provided almost 1.1 million liters of water for drinking and other purposes in 2024. It supported water and sanitation services in the governorates of Marib, Al-Jawf, Hajjah, and Saada as part of a $5 million initiative carried out with UNICEF between 2022 and 2023.

The renovation of seven water supply systems benefited more than 130,000 people; solar-powered pumps served 145,000, and 11,000 displaced individuals were connected to water networks.

Additionally, the effort reached almost 350,000 individuals with hygiene awareness programs and emergency sanitation facilities.
