DUBAI — The International Atomic Energy Agency has expressed “grave concern” over a drone strike that caused a fire in an electrical generator outside the inner perimeter of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant near Abu Dhabi.

Authorities responded to the incident in the Al‑Dhafra Region. No injuries were reported, and radiological safety levels were unaffected, the Abu Dhabi Media Office said Sunday. The plant’s essential systems are operating normally.

The IAEA said it is closely following the situation and remains in contact with UAE authorities, ready to provide assistance if needed. Officials urged the public to rely on official sources and avoid spreading rumors.
