Saudi and Malaysia Explore Stronger Defense Cooperation in High-Level Talks

Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman said Sunday that he spoke by phone with his Malaysian counterpart, Mohamed Khaled Nordin, to discuss bilateral ties and ways to strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries.

The ministers also reviewed recent developments and other issues of shared interest, Prince Khalid said in a post on X. The call follows Malaysia’s statement of solidarity with Saudi Arabia last week after attacks by the Iran-backed Houthi group, in which Kuala Lumpur reaffirmed its support for the Kingdom’s security and sovereignty.
