Global Medical Biotechnology Leaders Gather in Riyadh for Fourth Summit
Saudi Arabia opened the fourth Riyadh Global Medical Biotechnology Summit on Monday under the patronage of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, bringing together researchers, investors and industry leaders from around the world.
Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, minister of national guard and a board member of the Riyadh Biocentral Foundation, formally opened the three-day event, which runs through September 16 under the theme “Building the Foundations of Excellence in Medical Biotechnology.” The summit is organized by the Ministry of National Guard, through Health Affairs, alongside King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences and King Abdullah International Medical Research Center, with the Ministry of Investment and the Future Investment Initiative Institute serving as strategic partners.
Discussions are centered on national strategies and regulatory frameworks, research and development, innovation infrastructure, financing, and building talent and human capabilities within the medical biotechnology field. More than 100 speakers are taking part, including chief executives, university presidents, researchers and other sector specialists.
A companion exhibition is running alongside the summit, featuring government bodies, academic institutions, healthcare providers, technology firms and investment organizations showcasing medical products, services and emerging technologies. The program also includes panel discussions, scientific sessions, specialized workshops, and meetings pairing investors with policymakers, along with opportunities to sign agreements and memoranda of understanding aimed at deepening cooperation and partnerships across the sector.
