Muslim World League Takes Initiative with Qur’an Science Council Launch
RIYADH — The Muslim World League has formally launched the Global Council for Scientific Miracles in the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah, an initiative aimed at deepening scholarly exploration of scientific themes within Islam’s core texts.
Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, secretary-general of the MWL, inaugurated the council on Sunday during an official visit to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He also presided over the closing ceremony of the Science and Faith program and competition.
Both events drew international scholars, government ministers, and senior university figures. Malaysia hosted the initiatives as part of a partnership with the MWL to support Islamic and educational programs.
Seven agreements were signed between the MWL and Malaysian institutions, including universities and research centers.
The new council will focus on advancing the study of scientific references in the Qur’an and Sunnah, while the Science and Faith program promotes research linking science and Islamic teachings. The closing ceremony included a visual presentation of the program’s work and the announcement of MWL’s international awards.
