Technical Glitch Sends Etihad Airways London Flight Back to Abu Dhabi
An Etihad Airways flight from Abu Dhabi to London Heathrow turned back shortly after take-off on May 20 due to a technical issue.
Flight EY061 departed Zayed International Airport around 10 a.m. — eight hours behind its scheduled 2 a.m. departure — before returning to Abu Dhabi. An alternative aircraft was arranged for passengers. The flight eventually landed in London seven hours late.
The return leg, EY062 from London to Abu Dhabi, was also delayed by roughly seven hours.
The airline apologised, stating: “The safety of our guests and crew remains our highest priority, and we regret any inconvenience caused.”
