The foreign ministers of Syria and Jordan condemned Iran’s “unjustified” attacks on Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Jordan on Thursday. The meeting in Damascus also addressed Israeli airstrikes on Syrian territory.

Iran and Israel Attacks Condemned

Syria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Asaad Al-Shaibani and Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi criticized both Iranian and Israeli military operations. They called Iranian attacks on Gulf states unjustified while condemning Israeli airstrikes as violations of international law.

The joint criticism reflected shared regional concerns about the escalating conflict. Both nations face security challenges from the expanding war.

Israeli Withdrawal Demanded

The foreign ministers demanded an immediate Israeli withdrawal to the disengagement lines established in 1974. The demand referenced the original 1974 ceasefire agreement between Israel and Syria.

Bilateral Cooperation Focus

Al-Shaibani and Safadi led delegations discussing cooperation in economy, trade, transport, water, energy, defense, and security sectors. The broad agenda reflected comprehensive bilateral engagement between the neighboring countries.
