Saudi Arabia shot down seven ballistic missiles early Wednesday, the defense ministry announced. Six of the missiles targeted Prince Sultan Air Base while one was intercepted heading toward the Eastern Province.

Comprehensive Air Defense Success

In addition to the seven ballistic missiles, Saudi air defenses destroyed five drones heading toward the Shaybah oil field in the Empty Quarter. Eleven additional drones were shot down over Al-Kharj, Hafar Al-Batin, and other parts of the Eastern Province.

The successful interceptions demonstrate Saudi Arabia’s sustained air defense capabilities. The Kingdom continues defending critical military and economic infrastructure against repeated attacks.

Cabinet Condemns Iranian Attacks

Saudi Arabia’s cabinet, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman via videoconference Tuesday, strongly condemned Iranian attacks. The cabinet said the attacks violate international law and threaten regional security.

The cabinet reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s right to take all necessary measures to protect security and sovereignty. The strong statement reinforced the Kingdom’s commitment to defending itself.

Global Energy Crisis Deepens

Brent crude oil reached a historic $120 a barrel on Monday before settling back to $90 on Tuesday. The volatility reflects ongoing concerns about regional disruption to global energy supplies.

Aramco CEO Amin Nasser warned of catastrophic consequences for oil markets. “There would be catastrophic consequences for the world’s oil markets and the longer the disruption goes on … the more drastic the consequences for the global economy,” he stated.

Economic Warnings Mount

The White House claims gas prices will plummet once US objectives are achieved. However, the timeline for achieving these objectives remains unclear and contested.

Global energy-dependent economies face increasing economic pressure from prolonged disruption. Industrial sectors and consumers worldwide feel the impact of elevated oil prices.

Conflict Duration Remains Uncertain

The conflict could stretch on for months despite Trump’s recent comments suggesting it could be drawing to a close. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard maintains it will end only when they decide.

Observers debate how long the regional war will continue. The disconnect between American and Iranian timelines creates uncertainty for global stability.
