Fuel Price Hikes Shape Eid Travel Decisions Across the UAE

As fuel costs climb and the Eid holiday approaches, UAE residents are not cancelling their trips — they are planning smarter.

Booking flights 15 to 45 days in advance can lock in better fares. Flying on a Friday instead of a Saturday may cut ticket prices by up to 18%, according to recent industry data. Shorter regional getaways, staycations, and road trips are gaining ground over expensive long‑haul holidays.

Hospitality providers report a clear shift toward value. “We are seeing a noticeable shift towards shorter regional getaways, staycations and road trips that offer both convenience and value,” said Dominic Arel of UHM. Families are choosing destinations that bundle relaxation, dining, wellness, and entertainment to avoid extra travel costs.

Luxury travellers are consolidating trips and extending stays to improve efficiency. Across the board, advance planning has become the biggest money‑saving tool. Industry leaders expect these smarter habits to stick — even after fuel prices stabilise.
