Dubai’s Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed studies economic and financial indicators
His Highness Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Commerce and Chairman of a Higher Committee for the Advancement of the Economic and Financial Sector, chaired a meeting of the Committee to review the latest indicators of performance for Dubai’s economic and financial sectors.
The meeting emphasised the emirate’s achievements across key global financial competitiveness indices and discussed proposed strategic directions to further strengthen Dubai’s position as a leading, integrated global hub for gold.
His Highness Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum said that Dubai, under the guidance of the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vise President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, continues to enhance its economic competitiveness, develop its financial and economic sectors, and build integrated ecosystems to achieve sustainable development and further enhance its position among the world’s leading hubs for business, finance .
His Highness added: “Under the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, we continue Dubai’s journey of economic diversification, competitiveness and sustainability. We are further strengthening the emirate’s position as a global hub for business, finance and commerce by building more competitive economic and financial sectors that are better equipped to attract investments, talent and global corporations.
During the meeting, the Committee assessed Dubai’s competitiveness indicators in the financial sector, where the emirate ranked first globally in FinTech on the Global Financial Centers Index (GFCI) issued in September 2026, up from fifth place in March 2026.
