Sharjah Ruler attends conclusion of 5th Workshop for Arabic Language Teachers

His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, attended the closing ceremony of the Fifth International Forum for Arabic Language Teachers, held on Sunday morning. The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) and the Sharjah Education Academy (SEA) organised the event at the Academy’s headquarters, with the theme “Linguistic Security”.

His Highness met with a female student, a non-Arabic speaker, and listened to her experience learning the language and drawing inspiration from the book “House of Wisdom” by Sheika Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi.

The student displayed calligraphy and drawings drawn by her and her classmates, showing their love for the book and its substance.

She also highlighted educational and cultural programs and activities that bring the Arabic language closer to students, strengthen its presence in their lives, and deepen their relationship with it and their use of it in daily life. She also mentioned the emirate’s directive to improve Arabic language learning in early infancy at government nurseries.

At the end of her address, Al Hashimi thanked and appreciated the trustees of the Arabic Language Educational Center for the Gulf States (ALECGS), the scholars and researchers who contributed research papers, and all specialists, teachers, schools and partners.

She also thanked His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for his tremendous patronage, participation in the event and ongoing support for education and the Arabic language. A film entitled “The Linguistic Impact” was screened for His Highness and the audience, discussing the importance of the Arabic language and how to enhance its presence in education.
