Yemeni Forces Report 133 Military Operations Against Houthi Positions
DUBAI — Yemen’s armed forces carried out 133 military operations against Houthi positions over the past 24 hours, using rocket artillery, field artillery, and drones to destroy sources of threat, military spokesperson Colonel Majed Al-Nazili said Tuesday.
The operations were conducted with the participation of army units stationed along the front lines.
The escalation comes after the Iran-backed Houthi militia fired six ballistic missiles at the western port city of Mokha on Friday, killing eight people. Yemen’s military had promised a “tough response” following that attack.
The Houthis have recently stepped up attacks on Yemeni government targets, including military and civilian facilities, as well as on shipping around the Bab El-Mandeb strait. The latest operations mark a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between government forces and the Iran-backed group.
