Emirates Boosts Thailand Connectivity with Expanded Flight Services
DUBAI — Emirates has announced an additional daily flight from Dubai to Phuket, bringing the total number of daily services to three and weekly flights to 21, as the airline responds to strong summer demand from Europe and the Gulf and sustained tourism traffic into southern Thailand.
The expansion, announced on July 6, makes Phuket the latest Thai destination to receive Emirates’ Premium Economy product on the Airbus A350. The new service will operate alongside existing flights using a mix of Boeing 777s and A350s, giving the carrier greater seat flexibility on one of its busiest Southeast Asia leisure routes.
Flight EK390 departs Dubai at 22:40 and arrives in Phuket at 08:10 the following day. The return service, EK391, leaves Phuket at 10:00 and touches down in Dubai at 13:05. The early morning arrival into Phuket is timed to suit transfer traffic connecting from key European and Middle Eastern hubs, including Manchester, Amsterdam, London, Paris, Frankfurt, Kuwait, and Bahrain.
In the opposite direction, Phuket passengers gain additional same-day routing options through Dubai to Madrid, Munich, Birmingham, Brussels, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Edinburgh, Zurich, and Amman, deepening Emirates’ use of Dubai as a transfer hub for Europe and Middle East traffic flowing into Thailand’s resort market.
The extra daily service will be operated by an Airbus A350 in a three-class layout, featuring 32 lie-flat Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy seats, and 238 Economy seats. Premium Economy passengers will receive 35 kg of checked baggage and 10 kg of cabin baggage.
The A350 cabin brings newer product features to the Phuket route, including wireless charging in Business Class, premium cabin window blinds with a Ghaf tree motif, and digital inflight menus on ice screens. Across all cabins, passengers will have 4K and 4K HDR displays, while onboard connectivity runs through ViaSat’s Global Xpress satellite network with upgraded wireless access points.
Beyond passenger demand, the airline notes that the new daytime departure from Phuket improves cargo capacity into Dubai and onward markets across Europe, the UK, Africa, the GCC, and North America, with key shipment categories including perishables, electronic components, and general cargo.
The expansion follows Emirates’ recent reopening of its renovated lounge at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport’s SAT 1 terminal, the launch of an Emirates World Store at Gaysorn Centre in Bangkok, and fifth freedom services introduced last year linking Bangkok with Siem Reap and Da Nang. Tickets are now available through emirates.com, the Emirates app, travel agents, and Emirates retail stores.
