Donald Trump Warns Iran: “Time Is Running Out” for Peace Deal
WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump issued a fresh warning to Iran on Sunday, saying the Islamic republic must move quickly toward a peace deal or “there won’t be anything left of them.”
“For Iran, the Clock is Ticking, and they better get moving, FAST,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!”
The warning comes as peace talks remain stalled, with Iran demanding a lasting ceasefire in Lebanon before any broader agreement. Tehran has also accused Washington of offering “no tangible concessions” in its latest negotiating response, including refusing to release frozen assets or pay war reparations.
Violence continues to simmer. Israeli officials said Hezbollah fired some 200 projectiles at Israel over the weekend, while Lebanese authorities reported new Israeli strikes killed five people, including two children. Since the war began in late February, Israeli attacks have killed more than 2,900 people in Lebanon.
The conflict has effectively blocked the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments. Meanwhile, Pakistan continues to mediate between Washington and Tehran, though no breakthrough has been reported.
