Saudi FM Meets Turkish President in Ankara, Signs New Visa Agreement
Saudi Arabia and Turkey took a significant step forward in their partnership this week, with the Saudi Foreign Minister meeting Turkish leadership in Ankara to discuss expanded cooperation and sign a landmark visa agreement.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan was received by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the presidential palace on Wednesday, where the two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and explored new avenues for collaboration that serve their mutual interests.
A Streamlined Path for Diplomats
One of the week’s most concrete outcomes was the signing of a new visa exemption agreement between the two nations. Saudi and Turkish holders of diplomatic and special passports can now travel between countries without requiring a visa—a move that simplifies official travel and reflects the deepening relationship between the governments.
