Saudi Campaign Boosts Intellectual Property Awareness in the Sports Sector
RIYADH — The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property has launched a new awareness campaign to mark World Intellectual Property Day, observed annually on April 26.
This year’s theme focuses on the role of creativity and innovation in the sports sector, and how intellectual property rights protect everything from athletic gear to branding. The campaign aims to educate athletes and the public about safeguarding those rights, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The initiative is part of a broader effort to empower designers, developers, and innovators to build technologies and solutions that improve athletic performance and boost the sector’s competitiveness. Protecting sports innovations, officials note, also creates a secure environment that encourages investment in sports technologies and keeps pace with modern developments.
