A Global Journey Rooted in Learning and Experience

Elina Nikolaeva’s professional journey is as international as the supply chains she designs and manages. Originally from Bulgaria, she has spent most of her life studying, working, and living abroad, building a truly global perspective. She pursued her academic foundation in Business Administration before earning a Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management and Logistics in Spain. Today, she continues her academic path by pursuing a PhD in Business in Spain, with a research focus on the role of women in the global supply chain—an area that reflects both her professional experience and her commitment to advancing leadership diversity in the industry.

With more than 20 years of experience in supply chain management, Elina began her career while still studying, progressing steadily from internships to senior leadership roles without skipping any stage of professional development. She has worked extensively in the FMCG sector, particularly in non-wovens, specializing in polyester and viscose staple fibre sourcing. Over the past decade, she has focused on developing global supply chains with strategic hubs across Europe. Her work spans Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the UAE, where she currently owns and operates EN Consulting FZE, a global supply chain and procurement consultancy based in Sharjah. For Elina, the UAE represents an ideal business environment, offering a stable socio-political climate and a regulatory framework that actively supports entrepreneurship and international trade.

Motivation, Discipline, and the Power of Daily Routines

What drives Elina Nikolaeva every day is an unwavering passion for learning and personal development. She believes that continuous learning is essential not only for staying relevant in business, but also for maintaining curiosity, mental agility, and a youthful outlook on life. Staying open-minded and eager to evolve allows her to adapt to change and remain effective in a fast-moving global industry. Alongside intellectual growth, she places great importance on physical well-being, incorporating sports and dance into her daily routine to maintain positive energy and balance.

As a work-from-home mother, Elina’s productivity is anchored in structure and discipline. Her days follow a carefully planned rhythm—beginning with preparing breakfast for her son and taking him to school, followed by physical exercise, focused work on consulting projects, household responsibilities, academic research for her PhD, and finally, family time in the evening. She intentionally alternates between mental and physical activities, using weight training, cardio, and Zumba to reset her focus and approach each task with renewed clarity. This holistic routine enables her to remain energized, organized, and fulfilled, while also setting a strong example of resilience and positivity for her nine-year-old son.

Leadership in Complexity and Advice for the Next Generation

One of the aspects of her work that Elina Nikolaeva finds most rewarding is helping clients achieve their goals, regardless of the obstacles involved. In today’s world of geopolitical uncertainty, regulatory complexity, and global disruption, sourcing and delivering fibers across international markets is both challenging and intellectually stimulating. Elina Nikolaeva views complex situations not as deterrents, but as opportunities—believing that the tougher the journey, the more meaningful the success. Each supply chain milestone achieved under difficult conditions reinforces her pride in her work and her confidence in strategic problem-solving.

Challenges are a daily reality in global supply chain management, and Elina Nikolaeva approaches them with calm, optimism, and pragmatism. She firmly believes that every problem has a solution, and that maintaining composure is essential to creative thinking and effective decision-making. Her philosophy is simple yet powerful: if an issue can be resolved with money, it is not a problem, but a cost—one that can be planned for and managed strategically. For those aspiring to build a career or business in global supply chain or procurement, Elina Nikolaeva emphasizes resilience, positivity, and relationship-building. The industry demands strength in the face of manufacturing complexities, consumer expectations, geopolitical shifts, and evolving regulations. Above all, she stresses the importance of cultivating strong professional networks with peers, clients, and suppliers, as collaboration remains the cornerstone of long-term success in the global supply chain ecosystem.
