Swing States Turn Red as Trump Wins a Historic Landslide

Washington — Shortly after preliminary results indicated that he had won three crucial swing states, Donald Trump proclaimed himself the winner of the US presidential election on Wednesday morning. In his victory speech at the campaign headquarters in Florida, Trump declared, “This has been the greatest political movement of all time,” even though the official election results were still pending.

His campaign slogan, “This is a magnificent victory for the American people, that will allow us to make America great again,” he continued. To cries of “USA, USA” from the audience, Trump referred to his second term as a “golden age” for America and its citizens. He claimed he and the Republican party had “made history” and promised to help the nation “heal” and repair America’s borders.

“America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate,” he said, referring to the Senate’s “taken back control” by Republicans. For the first time in four years, Republicans regained control of the US Senate overnight, giving them a significant power center in Washington and a leading role in selecting the next cabinet and, in the event of a vacancy, the composition of the Supreme Court.

At a rally in Pennsylvania in July, he mentioned that God had “saved his life for a reason” in another passage, alluding to an attempted murder. Three crucial swing states—North Carolina, Georgia, and Pennsylvania—have been predicted to go to Trump. According to experts, the winner of Pennsylvania had a 90% probability of winning the election as a whole.
