Natalia Balayan – The United Arab Emirates and Russia – Cultural Dialogue
Famous writer, researcher and visionary Natalia Balayan first visited the UAE in 1992 and, according to her, subsequently visited this country quite often, witnessing amazing innovative changes.
She is proud to be a resident of the UAE and does a lot to contribute to her cultural development as a writer and a certified psychologist. Natalia Balayan defines her writing mission as using the latest modern knowledge of the science of psychology and ancient traditions, including myths, parables and fairy tales created on the basis of folklore traditions and cultures of different peoples.
The opportunity to live in Dubai and Moscow allows the writer to meet with a huge number of people of different nationalities, to talk with them, to absorb new knowledge about their cultures and national traditions.
Every year Natalia is invited to speak at various events in Dubai Knowledge Park (formerly Knowledge Village), a specialized free economic zone in Dubai focused on education, training and human resource development. It is an international center where numerous universities, training centers, advanced training schools and vocational training centers are located.
Natalia is happy to give master classes, read excerpts from her books, and conduct literary discussions in front of an inquisitive audience of different ages and nationalities on the walls of the famous university campus. Natalia travels extensively, and recently another wonderful country, Saudi Arabia, joined the list of more than 80 countries she has visited. Natalia visited the ancient city of Riyadh. It was a real discovery for her.
A vivid illustration of the unique ideas in Natalia’s work is the book “Treasures of the Soul”, which was published earlier this year.
In it, the author drew a parallel between the bright qualities that a particular gemstone reflects, being a symbol of love, for example, like a ruby, or wisdom like Lemurian quartz, or courage like a tiger’s eye, and between the qualities of the human soul. After all, if the soul possesses a set of precious qualities from the point of view of human values, it becomes a treasure trove of truth.
This book was created as a journey to the inner light of man. Through colourful legends about precious stones filled with ancient wisdom and symbols, through wishes addressed directly to the heart, written by the author from the point of view of great psychological experience, through special practical tasks, including illustrations for coloring, the book helps to reveal the spiritual qualities necessary for inner harmony and happiness.
In 2025, Natalia took part in the landmark RUSSIAN SEASONS event in Dubai as an honoured guest. In 2026, the writer and the famous Russian designer Yana Yarutti will present our clothing collaboration, created by a talented designer based on the fairy tales and parables of Natalia Balayan.
