RIYADH: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center and a civil society organization have inked a contract to provide Zakat Al-Fitr to Yemen. The arrangement is expected to benefit 31,333 families in need.

The agreement seeks to guarantee that Yemen, a country experiencing a humanitarian catastrophe, receives Zakat Al-Fitr contributions from the most vulnerable citizens.
On Thursday, the organization dispatched its seventh aid shipment to Sudan via the Saudi relief sea bridge.

The shipment consisted of 12 refrigerated trucks, 14,960 food baskets, and 524 tonnes of cargo. It left Jeddah Islamic Port and arrived at Suakin Port in Sudan.

The aid is a component of the Saudi agency’s second phase of the food security project in Sudan, which aims to reach 1.5 million recipients. The project will assist in improving the Sudanese people’s current situation. It emphasizes the close ties between Saudi Arabia and Sudan and the Kingdom’s support of fraternal nations in times of need.

Musaed bin Ibrahim Al-Saleem, the ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Malaysia, handed the aid on behalf of the agency in the presence of numerous Malaysian officials. Al-Saleem praised Malaysia and Saudi Arabia for their close relationship. Additionally, the organization gave 400 food baskets to South African families in need. The program is part of South Africa’s “Etaam” Ramadan food distribution program.
