CANNES — French Algerian actress Lyna Khoudri is making the most of this year’s Cannes Film Festival, promoting two very different projects while walking the red carpet.

Khoudri attended a screening of “In Waves,” an animated adaptation of AJ Dungo’s graphic novel that opened the 65th Cannes Critics’ Week. She provides the French voice for the film, which follows a skateboarder and a surfer whose relationship is tested by illness.

She also walked the carpet for “Fatherland,” directed by Pawel Pawlikowski. The drama follows Nobel laureate Thomas Mann and his daughter Erika on a road trip across post‑WWII Germany.

Khoudri, 33, first gained attention for her award‑winning role in “Papicha” and later appeared in Wes Anderson’s “The French Dispatch.” She continues to build an international career while staying connected to her Algerian roots.
